Jon Trickett responds to Government awarding £75 million of ‘secret’ Brexit contracts to high-profile consultancy firms
Jon Trickett, Labour’s Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office, responding to the Government awarding £75 million of Brexit related contracts to high-profile consultancy firms under deals that were never publicly announced, said:
“This is yet another instance of the Government trying to keep the public in the dark over their Brexit preparations, while they waste £4.2 billion on preparing for a no deal they should be ruling out. It is simply not acceptable.
“These bloated contracts illustrate the folly of almost a decade of Conservative cuts to the civil service and the growing reliance on costly consultancy firms to fill the gaps.
“We need full transparency, and it’s right that these contracts are investigated.”
