Jonathan Reynolds MP responds to independent review into SME banking
Jonathan Reynolds MP, Labour’s Shadow City Minister, commenting on Simon Walker’s independent review into SME banking, said:
“Ten years on from the financial crisis, one of the most fundamental issues we face is restoring trust to the banking sector.
“While this report is a starting point on how we can achieve that, we believe new systems will need to go further to mend the relationship between businesses and banks.
“Launching a low cost, independent tribunal system in pilot form merits consideration. We also believe a full independent public inquiry is necessary to guarantee we will never see a repeat of events like these again.”
