Jonathan Reynolds responds to Louise Casey’s call for Govt to extend £20 Universal Credit
Jonathan Reynolds MP, Labour’s Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, responding to calls by former government homelessness adviser Dame Louise Casey to extend benefit increases worth £20 a week beyond the end of March, said:
“The Government needs to take this warning from its own former adviser seriously and do the right thing for family incomes.
“Britain is facing the worst recession of any major economy because of the Government’s incompetence and indecision. The Chancellor should support families and secure our economy by cancelling this cut.”
