Loss of high street jobs is bad news for businesses – Bill Esterson
Bill Esterson MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Business and International Trade, responding to a survey by Office for National Statistics and Ordnance Survey on high streets, said:
“The loss of high street jobs is bad news for businesses, communities and consumers. We welcome ONS and Ordnance Survey teaming up to produce data on our beleaguered high streets, but action is urgently needed.
“The Conservatives merely tinker around the edges, which is why, on their watch, the British High Street has declined – damaging businesses, costing thousands of jobs and hitting communities hard. Labour’s bold five-point plan to save the high street provides long term solutions to long term problems.
“Labour will bring forward measures to address the crisis that has engulfed our high streets.”
