ONS labour market figures
Margaret Greenwood MP, Labour’s Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, responding to the ONS’s new labour market statistics release, said:
“The reality behind these figures is that the number of people in work in poverty is rising faster than employment.
“Real wages are still lower than they were ten years ago. Too many people are trapped on low pay in insecure work and increasing numbers of children are growing up in poverty.
“Labour will introduce a £10 Real Living Wage and invest in skills and training to build an economy that works for the many, not the few.”
