Shocking figures show the impact of deep rooted and systematic racial injustice in the UK – Marsha de Cordova
Marsha de Cordova MP, Shadow Women and Equalities Secretary, responding to a report that only 51 of the top 1,097 workplace roles in the UK are held by black, Asian and minority ethnic people, said:
“These shocking figures show the impact of deep-rooted and systematic racial injustice in the UK.
“We need urgent action on race equality not just to improve representation in senior positions but also to tackle the ethnicity pay gap and end the unfair discrimination that black, Asian and minority ethnic people have to face in their day to day lives.
“The Government must deliver a race equality strategy to tackle structural racial inequalities in Britain.”
