It is shocking that staffing levels in our prisons continue to be woefully inadequate – Imran Hussain
Imran Hussain MP, Labour’s Shadow Justice Minister, responding to the news that the leaving rate of frontline prison officers is now at a record high of 10.3%, said:
“It is shocking that staffing levels in our prisons continue to be woefully inadequate, with prison officers leaving at a record rate.
“To address the exodus of experienced staff, the Tories must ensure that our prisons have sufficient officers to operate safely, and stop cutting prison officers’ pay.”
