Theresa May risks leaving UK isolated and in danger of becoming the world’s dumping ground – Gardiner
Barry Gardiner MP, Labour’s Shadow International Trade Secretary, commenting on the Prime Minister’s trade visit to China, said:
“Today the Prime Minister spoke of the benefits of free trade, jobs, investment and about the need to abide by the same rules and not engage in dumping. It is not enough to just talk tough on unfair practices like dumping of steel, the industry needs action.
“Only yesterday Conservative MPs voted against an opportunity to ensure a properly robust and independent body with real anti-dumping powers to create a level playing field for business in the UK.
“Theresa May risks leaving the United Kingdom isolated and in danger of becoming the world’s dumping ground.”
