Head of Communications- Welsh Labour

Salary: £58,084.17 (gross) per annum, with a fixed sum allowance of £2,608. There is the ability to progress to £64,693.99 over the next 2 years. This role also attracts a car allowance of £5000 (gross per annum), subject to internal checks.

The Labour Party is looking to recruit a Head of Communications- Welsh Labour.

The post holder will be responsible for developing and implementing a pro-active national media strategy across Wales. They will support the Welsh Labour Leader and First Minister, the Deputy Leader, Welsh Labour Cabinet and elected members in effectively communicating Welsh Labour’s message and achievements in Government across the country. They will also take responsibility for the day-to-day presentation of the UK Labour Official Opposition’s policies and activities in the national Welsh media, building towards success across Wales at the next UK General Election.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of Welsh national media, and issues affecting devolution; knowledge of Welsh Labour Government policies, and UK Labour policies in Wales; the ability to implement a media strategy, maximise media coverage, and boost the party’s profile and experience of adapting messaging for different platforms including social media in a campaign environment.
